Who killed wildposting?
Every single wildposting / wheatpasting vendor that serves New York City is responsible for the 60% reduction in poster site inventory since 2022.
Without exception, the vendor you hired to execute a wildposting campaign in NYC over the past seven years contributed to:
-
Unsightly appearance of poster sites.
-
Advertiser’s posters lying across sidewalks like industrial waste for several days after every rainstorm.
-
Poster wars that reduce media value to nearly zero in many cases.
-
Irresponsible maintenance practices push cleanup costs onto property owners and taxpayers.
-
Deceptive media packaging such as the “Refresh” model misleads media buyers.
Wildposting vendors allow advertiser’s ad-copy to become a public nuisance, not to mention the harm done to the brand’s image.
Everlane’s wildposting vendor made a conscious decision to leave the posters removed from the fence on the sidewalk instead of carting them away.
Property managers are finally fighting back. Over 60% of poster site inventory has been taken off-line by anti-poster defenses since 2022.
Vendor battles often eliminate wildposting’s actual media value, either by constant, sloppy cover overs or malicious tearing. Again, the brand pays the heaviest price.
Have the wildposting vendors learned their lesson? Nope!
Seen Outdoor’s wildposting crew made this Brooklyn site appear clean and pretty on May 21, 2023. But look where they left the posters that were falling off the fence upon arrival – right in front of the neighbor’s entrance door. AMAZING!
Thanks a lot Seen! I’ll get into my shop somehow.
Wildposting vendors that sell periodic “Refreshes” are selling a false perception of value. They give the impression that posters live for several days before being covered over or torn down, but the reality is that posters live only hours in competitive markets such as NY and LA.
